SPECIMEN POOL
Trout pool. The 1.5 acre Specimen Pool has an average stock size of 6lbs, with a minimum of 4lbs and some fish of over 20lbs. The largest caught to date weighed over 23lb. The pool has an average depth of 9ft. There are 10 platforms and an island in the centre. A maximum of 6 anglers are allowed at any one time, which allows movement between piers. Groups of 10 can book the entire pool. Best flies are mini lures such as the green pea and mini cats whisker. Smaller flies can work as well if the clarity is good. A white bunny leech is a favoured pattern for big fish. The pool is fly only with no catch and release.
Prices: £25 for 2 fish limit half day (4 hours); £35 for 4 fish limit full day (8 hours); £27 for 3 fish evening ticket

Prices: £7 per rod per day, or £10 if you are fishing with 2 rods.

WOODSIDE POOL
Trout pool. Any 'legal' method pool, for children and beginners. Bait, fly and spinning are permitted but there is strictly no catch and release. Best baits are sweetcorn and maggot, but fly is often successful too. Average stock size is just under 1.5lb, with the record fish of 7.25lb caught on a worm.
